This is new to me I collect letter tractors. I bought this one from a friend. It looks all stock with fairly bad rust on the mower deck the rest of the tractor is very good just needs paint. My questions are can mower decks be found and what year was this tractor built? Ser# 2050036N32G735. Why so many numbers?? Thanks

You can buy all kind of parts on eBay for any model Cub Cadet. I just bought a CC 1450 and bought a belt guard for the mower deck last week on eBay.

That serial number you provided is incorrect. I am going to venture to say, that the last six digits should be [b:0f1415ed64]326735[/b:0f1415ed64]. With that in mind, it would have rolled off the line in Jan of 1970.

Mower decks are easy to find. The popular auction sites has lots of them. There are a lot of Cub Cadet Salvage Yards also that could fix you right up.

Where are you located. Might help someone to let you know a deck is close by. You can put a 38" or 42" on that machine.

Yeah, I'm probably a good 200 miles from you in NJ. I know Berwick is 102 miles from my front door. But I do have a 38" and 42" deck if you want to travel. Will check them out when it stops raining.

I would stay with a 38 inch mower, unless your 73 has been upgraded to a larger engine. 7 horsepower will not run a 42 inch mower in high grass.
