Ok lawn mower guys I need help I have a Allis Chalmers 4816 hydrostatic lawn tractor
A real strong motor but I want to pull with it and I don't think the hydro will put the power to the ground I have come into a cub cadet with a good drive train (supposedly) and I want to know what kind of trouble will I run into putting the drive train in my Allis I'd like to keep the Allis since I have an antique WC that I pull and it would complement each other some of the pulls I go to now pull tractors and lawn tractors so I could save on fuel also Any advice and will be appreciated Thanks

It can be done. Use asy many driveshaft and clutch parts from a Cub Cadet that you can find. You will just need to mock it up into your frame and rig up the clutch linkage. A few older Fords in PA and NJ did the same thing and looks almost factory made. Make your choice between the slow 2nd gear or fast 2nd gear when you are ready to do the job.

You might take the whole Cub Cadet, strip the hood, tower and such off, the put your Allis stuff on in its place. I think the Cub Cadet frame will be heavier than the Allis.

Thanks for the info once I get the cub home I may decide to make an Allis out of it I havent't seen it yet time will tell
Thanks again

i would probably go for making the cub look like an allis you can probaly easily put the hood and grille on the cub frame i am in the process of doing this with a 110 john deere hood and grille on a puller

Ok guys, I got the cub it's a 100 and will require a lot more work to make a puller than my Allis
my qustion now is : is this a tractor I should not rob parts from or are they plentiful enough that any one could find them?
I really would hate to strip the drive train and then find out the Cub was more valuable whole
Basically what's it worth?
there is no deck or seat the engine is loose and complete the grille is missing lots of rust but not rusted through Thanks for your help
