cubic in. formula

Pie R squared is the formula for the area of a circle. Area times stroke times number of cylinders will give you cubic inches.

Radius (1/2 of bore) X radius X pie (3.14) X stroke X number of cylinders.

That is the formula I have always used, and it has never failed to agree with an engine of already known c.i.d.

If You INSIST ON USING 3.14 You should finish the equation like this 3.14/4 cause when you do that it equals .7854 geometry it is what it is

If You INSIST ON USING 3.14 You should finish the equation like this 3.14/4 cause when you do that it equals .7854 geometry it is what it is
ominee built a 403stroker cubic inch engine bore is 4.625 stroke is 6what inches 4.6625*6*3.14 is 348 4.625*4.625*6*4*.7854 is 403

Call me a stickler, but I have always used pie = 3.141592, more decimal places you carry it out, the more accurate your result is.

Ok you then have to use north pullers formula radius^2 x stroke times number of cylindersx pie . If you use only bore or radius once and don't square it with either 3.141592 or .7854 it doesnt come out correct

:roll: I know that. Pie times the radius squared times the length of the stroke times the number of cylinders is the standard formula I learned in school a long time ago. It is also where I developed the habit of carrying pie out to six decimal places. I majored in computer sci and minored in math, business admin and history. :lol:
