I like a few opinions about what price would be acceptable for a neighbor farmer,to do custom discing, tractor used is a green steiger with 14'heavy ofset disc ,to break up an 200 acre alphalpha hay field, followed up with a 32' lighter tandem disc. Fuel is supplied by the land owner.
By the acre or the hour. Canadians please.

Bear in mind that the landowner also provides mechanical, welding and machining services for the farmers equipment and vehicles,at only $40 to $55 per hour.

I don't know the gear.... so it's hard to put a price on it. I spose I'd want probably 120 an hour for that outfit. I'd want 70 an hour for mine with a 9' disc, and this is not quite double that, so...
That's with me supplying everything. Dunno what that old green snot will burn for fuel, but probably 8-10 gph, so deduct that from the price. Mabey it only burns 6 gph. I dunno. I know I'm burning 3 gph with mine and working 3 acres per hour, so figure a gallon per acre or therabouts.
It really helps to know your gear to figure these things out. The hourly rate is not high either...
Dunno what to tell you.

I figured it out two different ways and either way I came out at $9 to $11/acre for the first pass (with owner supplying fuel). A green Steiger is an older lower value tractor than I was using in my calc. So that may trend it to the lower side. depends on conditions.
