D2 steering clutch

I have a '55 D2, and the right steering clutch is stuck. The main clutch and the left steering clutch broke free, but the right one won't. Is there a way to free this up without taking it apart. The machine sat for 2 years. Thanks

Some people tie the lever back and run the machine into a solid object to try to break them free,other people soak the clutch in diesel but after spending nearly 55 years battling to keep oil off brakes and clutches it against the grain for me to recommend it.

I have done as the previous writer says. Push it against something with the steering lever tied back. Rather than using diesel, try brake fluid or Coka-Cola/Pepsi or something slightly acidic.

Try tightening the adjustment up as much as you can.
I reccomend riding the brake to heat up the drum. This has worked for me, but I have fallen under criticism for sugesting it. Anything is better than trying to get it apart and breaking the drum to do so. You know you can do a lot of work with a Cat withonly one steering clutch, just back up to turn the other way. Works ok for dozing not so good for farming.

Thanks for the replies. I've been doing alot of work with only one steering clutch, about 20 hours worth since getting the crawler 3 weeks ago...........man it sucks lol. Gonna try the diesel soak.
