D312 into a 460

They are crushing old state trucks around here. Most of them are IHC with 466 diesels. At most of the antique pulls here there is at least one 460 or 560 with a 466 in it. So must not be to hard to put one in. Seems like in the hook there is a AD about putting RD and DT engines in 4- 560. Probably cheaper to go ahead and get a 466. Also you will get a bigger and better diesel pump. Just a thought Vic
 
I don't know. But it is a IHC engine and it will fit and it is the same number of cylinders as the gas motor. And there probably is one or two guys already doing it. :-) Vic

This is the Cornfield Cadillac IH 560 with a 466 truck motor in it.
 
Wanting to stick with the 312 in a 460. Would rather keep things light without the use of a bunch of aluminum. Thought the idea would be neat even for a farm tractor.
