darf wheel rake

i have been doing some hay raking using my old darf wheel rake, and the rake seems to leave alot of grass behind. i'm raking short 4-6 inch grass hay and am thinking that is my problem. have all the teeth, but just wondered if someone else has run into this. if it's the size of the grass there's nothing i can do.

Yepper Gary you are correct. two short of grass

thats kinda what i thought as once it gets a fairly good windrow it works better but i have no choice but to cut it not so guess i just wont get all of it.

I thought Id try the shredding technique one year on a strip or two of hay. raked with a sytrex 10 wheel rake...NOT.... rake wheel just cant pass that small of stuff on to the next wheel and so on..or like you said before you miss alot.

That short of hay you would almost need a hydraulic front broom.
