Went to wrap bales with my 3 point wrapper yesterday, and it didn't want to go very fast the one direction, the
direction I needed it to go, so took the fitting off thinking maybe something plugged in hose fitting end but nope. It
was the JD to Pioneer adapter not opening up the ball enough on the return hose. Not end of story, before I figured
that out the hose blew out of the hydraulic motor, under investigating it the company used the wrong fittings, it
needed NPTF and they used ORB fittings. Worked fine for several years until a little more pressure it had to endure.
LOL Sure coated the back off the tractor quick with oil.

There is a lot of equipment in the country that was never assembled correctly. I've gone over equipment that has been used for years that was never assembled right. Seems that we have this big rush to push equipment out the door of the factories. Most manufacturers assume that the dealer with fix problems when they do a pre-delivery check - while most dealers just sell it and deliver it without checking assembly because they really don't know how it is supposed to be assembled.

It's a vicious circle, but if you are in doubt check it out!

Good you were able to figure it out on both counts. I'm amazed at the people that don't understand the different fitting types. They wrap flare or o-ring fittings with teflon tape and wonder why they leak.

I did that with the 2-105 yesterday. Blew a hose on the planter. Pretty much soaked the lower half of the window,but it only took about half a pass across the field for the dust to pretty much black out the whole thing.

That's my nightmare - hydraulic all over everything. I've spent hundreds replacing hoses I thought might blow just to avoid the mess. The only thing worse than hydraulic all over your machine is having it blow all over you. I instantly feel 30 degrees hotter. When that happens I drop everything and go shower ( and burn the clothes).

It came back to haunt me a few years ago. I was drilling wheat with the 435 drill on the 4440. The down pressure guage blew, shot hydro all over the planter and tractor, shot up in the air over the cab, and got sucked through the fan and blown all over the front of the tractor. All in the span of 1.5 seconds. I just about cried. After replacing the guage and two five gallon buckets of hydraulic fluid I spent a couple of hours cleaning.

Obvious mistakes are made......apparently in haste to get the product out the door. Years ago I was an understudy salesman at the local John Deere dealer. One day the head sales guy had me take a new 4240 tractor to the local tire store to get the rear tires loaded. I got the thing out on the road and it handled terribly and vibrated like something was out of balance. I stopped as soon as possible, bailed out of the cab and looked the thing over.........The cause of the trouble was very evident, one rear tire/rim was mounted crooked, part of the rim was secured to the center in the narrow rim setting and part secured to the wide setting, resulting in about an 8 inch wobble of the outer wheel tread. How it was never seen and fixed during the runout check, loading and delivering of the tractor is beyond me......."Skip to my loo at Waterloo, it's quittin' time".....

o- ring and pipe have the same thread pitch, the difference being in how they seal ,my guess is that if it had o-ring that is what it was made for

Pipe thread is tapered. ORB is not.

Having working in a factory or two, I'm not surprised when I hear these stories. There is always pressure for product to be going out the door. You couple that with the fact that the factories are not very picky about who they hire and do not test for intelligence. Guys on the assembly line are known to grab a part that looks "close enough" and not understand how the thing they're building actually works.

O-ring and pipe are not interchangeable. A few times a year a customer comes in with a tip they bought at the farm store. They say its junk and it the hose blew off of it. I sell them the opposite of what they have. If they need a pipe thread tip I also sell them some Teflon tape. After this they never have problems!

Health insurance use to work. I talk to my parents about their policies (they are in their 80's) from way back. Nobody was going broke - insurance, doctors, etc.

Prior to this government health care disaster, I had affordable family insurance with my employer - even with the increasing premiums every year.

Now with government care - our premiums are going even higher. My hunch is we are going to go all high deductible. We can afford it, but the guy working somewhere between minimum wage and maybe 15/20 dollars an hour won't be able to find the cash for the high deductible. For them, the insurance companies get their money, for the individual, they simply get zero health care as they can't afford it.

It's a crying shame, those who voted for it, couldn't have found a way to insure those without - without wrecking the system we had. They CERTAINLY aren't on this system.

For me - I've lost due to early retirement, without a doubt, the BEST family doctor I've EVER had. Retirement driven by the increased regulation/paperwork from this disaster government care. Doctor told me this straight-up.

Next is some outrageous high deductible plan - I'm sure.

Not trying to be political, just venting with regard to my situation.

I'm not sure what this has anything to do with hydraulic fittings but I'll bite.
Get this through your head. THEY DON'T WANT YOUR HEALTH CARE TO BE AFFORDABLE! The sooner you come to grips with this the better off you will be in your way of thinking to deal with it. The sooner they can destroy the system the sooner they can rebuild it in their one step from communism socialistic utopian society they have been dreaming of. In fact, if things get bad enough, you will be begging for single payer system. Don't you want to be like Canada and have everything paid for you? Everybody gets "free" healthcare there. Anybody with the sniffles gets all the drugs and attention they want. Those with cancer go to America for treatment anyway.(those who can afford it). But that's ok. Everybody gets the sniffles but not everyone gets cancer. Oh wait! If we become Canada, where will we go for cancer treatment?
But don't worry. With O' Care it's against the law to not have health insurance so it doesn't matter if your parents can afford it or not. By making it a law, they will always have affordable coverage right?
But seriously. Just have them do what everyone else is doing. As long as your healthy, don't carry any insurance at all. If you get sick and need cancer treatments, just sign up and start paying premiums because by law you can't be refused. Then after you get your treatments, you just stop paying the premiums again. Problem solved and it's affordable just like they promised. So long as they have enough good minded and responsible citizens that will go along with their premiums being doubled and likely on the way of being tripled to pay for everyone else, then they can sell this thing for a few more years yet. By then the newest voting generation who is all about social compassion (with other people's money) will help the libs put this country right into the septic tank.
I'm venting a little too. I just did blood work for a new life insurance policy. Passed EVERYTHING with flying colors. Wife is pizzed because I don't ever see a doctor, don't eat right and carry I bit of extra weight but who doesn't in their 50s. I got a huge discount on my policy for my good health yet my health insurance which I never use, has almost doubled and that's after shopping different companies and plans. I really do feel for those of you who have health issues, need the coverage and are on a fixed income yet besides. I don't have the answers but I can see where all this is going and I don't like it much.
