The "First Wife" frowns on me dating although maybe if its with a Deere might mitigate in my favor???? Yep Id date it at late middle 47 pretty close to my own upcoming birthday.

Middle 47 is when they changed from slant dash to the late style style dash. Mine is a late 47 with the box seat and flat dash. It is number 591809

Hi Frog,
Yea mine's about a mid 47 then,
ned to get it runing, but saw all this water come out of sump,
thinking its a head gasket, not craked head or block,
it was running, four yrs ago, but its been sitting since then,
do I need the wireing to start it or just make sure the mag is ok,
after i get the head on and valves adjusted?
tired of It sitting,
wanna get it running,
keep in touch ok,
need help on this,
Kirk,

With a mag you don't need any wires for it to run, unless you want to use the electric starter, then you need a wire or two.

Welcome to the slant dash A club. Mine is a mid 47 serial number 5803??. I have went through mine front to back. If you need any photos for reference, let me know. I have several close up shots after I got it all finished.

Solid front, no roll o matic. It was not available till late 47. Send me an email ([email protected]) with your email address and I will send you some photos on Monday when I am at work. My connection speed is faster there.
