David Bradley Subrepair

I own a 1961 David Bradley Suburban (model#917.60616) that I'd like to get running. Does anyone know somebody in the St. Louis area that they'd recommend to repair my tractor?

Hi, I just bought a couple Sears Suburbans and oddly they have same start of serial number. These were made by Roper I'm told, and that Roper bought the Bradley name from Sears in 50's. I've never seen a Bradley tractor, cept little two wheel units. Any chance of a picture here? or maybe send me one at my Yahoo address shown? Curious as to wether same basic tractors or not. Does this have a Cast Iron Tecumseh and what size? Very hard to find certain parts for those. Coils and electrics especially. If you have points, you are better shape. Go to the MTF (My Tractor Forum) site and they have big group for Sears and lots of help. Would think Labor for tearing into old stuff would be killer. DIY'self doesn't cost. At least removing engine to take in to someone may be less costly. If engine turns over, not stuck, maybe a clean tank of gas and clean the carb bowl, check for spark, fresh battery and you might be good to go for a start try?? Cranking and spraying starter fluid or other sprays in the carb may fire and run a moment to see if going to run at all. Course if all locked up, maybe a new engine re-power would be easiest way to reviving this tractor.

I don't have a picture but if you go to davidbradley.net, then go to db equipment, post war, David Bradley Suburban. There are some pictures of db tractors and the one I have looks a lot like the 1959 model. I don't mind trying to get it running myself but I don't want to cause any damage. The tractor hasn't been started in over 20 years and I'm not sure what steps I should take to ensure that I don't damage the engine if I try starting it.
