I have a 196? DB Selectamatic. It sat for a couple of years and when I revived it, the lift was stuck up. I kept forcing (hand pressure) and got the lift down but it will not lift up now. Any ideas on what this might be?

I'll jump in with the most obvious thing. Drain the hydralic fluid, clean the hydraulic screen/filter, put in new fluid. That'll be the first step.
 
The best place to ask for advice is over on the David Brown owners club forum. Lots of experienced and helpful folks over there.
