My dc idles very nice, but as soon as I give it some throttle, It goes to wide open throttle. Is this an issue within the govenor or an adjustment outside somewhere?

My VAC and both Scs were the same way when they first wandered up the drive ,,. i thouht it was internal ,but was able to correct the problem on all the tractors from chekin the archives on this forum ..., You should be able to adjust the governor with the throttle linkage to the carb ,dont go internal u ntil you find that info and try all possible adjustments , perhaps some one will chime in with the rite info...

Disconnect the rod from the arm to the carb, set the throttle in wide open position and adjust the rod length till it just fits in the carb arm with it held in wide open position also. If all your internal components in the governor are in good condition that should get you going. The internal fork can break or bend and the thrust bearing could fail, I have seen may times the rod bent to get the proper length.
