I'm working on a late model DC. On the bottom exterior on the front half of the oil pan are three plugs in a machined surface with a screw driver slot in them. Inside the crankcase are three domes whose location correspond to the plugs. Doesn't appear to be any galleries connecting them to the oil pump. What are they?
 
I think those are for attaching the wishbone for a wide front end. Are the directly in front of the deep section of the pan? If they are, that's what they are for.
 
Those are simply plugs that fill in the stud holes for a mounting plate on the back of a wide, non adjustable front end wishbone (D and DC4 series). You will find them on DC3 (narrow front and adjustable wide front)motors. Don
