Deadmans throttle

Wanting to put a deadmans throttle on my farmall M need help any pics or info would be great.Also met and talked to alot of you guys at the NATPA pull in Jackson,MO. Very nice guys, everyone was easy to talk to, thanks for all the advice guys..

Put an M&W throttle on it and remove the friction disc or just loosen it up. It will return to idle anytime you let go of it. Works great as a deadmans throttle.

No I want a side throttle by the side of my seat like by my leg

I built mine. I got a high quality boat thottle cable at a marine store. They had all of the clamps, a ball joint mount for the carb, and a clevis pinned fork for the throttle lever end. both ends of the cable are threaded (lots of adjustability). The cable is stainless and the sheath has seals on both ends. For my lever, I bought two flanged bearings ( 1" od x 1/2" id). I put these into both ends of a 2 1/2" long piece of steel tube. I welded a 1/2" bolt to a mounting plate for my fender, and welded a 3/8" steel round bar for the lever and a 1/2" x 1/4" strap for the cable pull to the bearing tube. The round bar was tapped for a round shift knob and once the desired throw was figured out, I drilled the strap for the cable's clevis and a return spring. then I welded posts to the mounting plate for throttle stops. Very effective and it holds up well with dirt and weather. Marine parts are pricey, but you know they will last and hold up. It cost me about $80 and about two and a half hours. If you want, I'll see about taking some pics.

I dont have a pic handy, but I used the M throttle loosened up with springs added. I used 1/8' plate to cut out a small bracket to weld to the throttle and to the support post. I bought a set of double springs at the parts store and installed with about 1/4" of preload. You will want double springs large enough that one will return it if the other fails. That is pretty common requirement.
