Deciphering Ford 4000 Industrial TBL serial #

We all want to be special. This is my first tractor, let alone
front end loader and backhoe but for my initial application and
budget, I thought this was a good first. The unit was found at
an estate sale by my brother. My 85 y/o father and my brother
gave it an initial evaluation. Upon inspection it Cranked, idled,
hydraulics worked, no apparent leaks, with guidance from
owners son my brother figured out how about the
transmission shifted and the tractor went forward and
backwards. So, I said, get it!

Ive checked out several sites to attempt to figure out exactly
what I have but seem to have that SPECIAL tractor that falls
within mid production year/model??

Here is the info:

CONN 4024 F
40307
161259

It has the 720 Loader and 753 backhoe.

Ill upload images when I get a moment to figure this site. This
will be a slow process learning how to use and restore.
Thanks in advance!

Just so you are aware if the site starts rejecting your posts with pictures. Not always, but in many cases new users have to have 5 or more posts on record before the site lets them post pictures (or links), due to site spam filters. Another option is to go down to the Site Comments Forum and ask YT Support for permission to post prior to that. You can try going down to the Test Forum and making several posts there to get your post count up, trying to attach your pictures to each post. That may work after you make several posts. Then make your post here again. It may not work immediately after you get past the 5 posts, if not, you might try logging out and back in at that point. There is a size limit as well, I think it is a total of 7mb per post (be it one picture or the total of several). Some pictures (often taken with phones), are too large and have to be reduced before they will post.

172 gas or diesel engine. prior to 1962 . utility with non adjustable front axle, Select O Speed trans. Built in 1962 Strange to have 540/1000 and ground speed pto on TLB.

Thanks the reply Shaun.

Where did you find the decipher code?

The transmission is not a Select-o-Speed. The identifier is an F.

It is a 4cyl 172, utility, but with no apparent pto or controls.

Ill upload photos as soon as I meet the site requirements.

C0NN 4024 F is engineering number for rear axle center housing. C0 is first used in 1960 N is for tractor N is for North America F is a revison of casting. 40307 is model number, bet the 7 is a 1 since not a sos 161259 is serial number Part of that info is avaible on this site.

Exactly, what thats what confused me.

Thats why I asked the question about deciphering the codesIm new to this, but I guessing, could another backend have been bolted on? Hate to show my ignorance, but I assume it could have happened?

Oh, well, Im just at the beginning of a this learning process.
