dell wa Please do not respond to any of my question. I stated in my first responses that I knew nothing about the tractor and by your response you have proven that you are somewhat illiterate and your responses will only put me at a disadvantage. The question was not about the length but what it was called.
thanks

Well I think that by asking him not to reply you are putting YOURSELF at a disadvantage. Dell has probably forgotten more than you know..... He is a very wise man when it comes to these machines

Do you have something against Benevolent Curmudgeons?

Tyrone,

As Dunk points out, and not trying to defend Dell - he can do that well enough :-)....but the same questions are posted about a week apart, over and over and over....get it? We were and are still new to different parts of our tractors. Yet we still ask question that have been answered many, many times before. You will find with MANY people on this board - they all want to help and all will, some with wit, some with sh!t, but read deep into what Dell speaks of, separate the "picken and fun" from the content and you'll see that he is on target about 98% of the time, hell Dell - Not sure where the other 2% went.......
Next time you find yourself asking a question, do a little "search" here on this board and you'll find more answers that you can imagine! Then ask away. If you look, certain people are smart as hell, and copy a script that they typed once and cut and paste to answer the question(s) that come up over and again, one that always comes up is a tractor that quits ......if you follow the advice and have your wire and wrench ready quickly you can find the problem quicky.
Once again - not trying to add insult to injury, but the answers are here, sort though and you'll find them. Just my .02

[b:2ea2006f1d]be·nev·o·lent[/b:2ea2006f1d]

Function: adjective

1 a: marked by or disposed to doing good <a benevolent donor> b: organized for the purpose of doing good <a benevolent society>

2: marked by or suggestive of goodwill <benevolent smiles>

[b:2ea2006f1d]curmudgeon [/b:2ea2006f1d]

The noun has one meaning:

Meaning #1: a crusty irascible cantankerous old person full of stubborn ideas

Just because they are stubborn, don't make em wrong.

Most of us consider Dell's posts to be humorous, and [b:2ea2006f1d]factual[/b:2ea2006f1d].

In case you haven't figured it out yet. The internet has given us these wonderful forums that, if given enough time, will answer just about any question, about anything, that anybody can ask.
However, to do this you have to read a lot of responses and sort out the parts that don't pertain(or you think don't pertain) But no matter what you should be learning something from each response. Maybe of use now but more likely down the road. So give it a break, read and learn

The point is we are here to help each other not talk down to anyone.I say answer their question if you can or keep quiet and not belittle anyone how many times have we went through this over the years.Good Grief....

Well...if you're afraid of his information, DON'T read his reply! Geeeeezzz.....get a grip.

That "Benevolent Curmudgeon" as you so (aptly?) refer to him, has a heart of gold under that rough exterior and is welcome back to MY table anytime he rolls thru.

jb

ps.......Dell may or may not be many of the things he's been labeled here over the years BUT, "illiterate" 'ain't one' of 'em! LOL

Don't take me wrong....

I may pick at Dell sometime, but if I thought for one minute that he needed it, I would, and [b:8d0cc027b2]will[/b:8d0cc027b2] come up in his corner.

Well tyrone---

Dell can sure be a bit abrasive; however, he sure does know his "skit" about N's and if I needed to, I'd holler for him and not worry about the tone of his response.

I would not call him "somewhat illiterate ".
He does use bad spelling and quaint language to demonstrate his great knowledge of the N-series tractors.

Roger

Tyrone Im certain Dell will respect your wishes and not bother you with a reply to your posts. You are misinterpreting him though and should reconsider, he's been a great blessing to most of us here over the years. Dell knows what he's talking about. I had the chance to meet him last winter and let me assure you he is a wonderful gentleman even if his replies are a little crusty at times.

Agreed. Dell can take care of himself just fine.

I was just trying to respond directly to the original poster's points.

Dell left us a great photo of him in western setting and garb that I had framed. 'Suits' him to a tee.

I have a pic of Dell, and Jim UT, I picked up somewhere.

Just for the heck of it, I checked the New Holland parts book and it is called:

Handle, Hydraulic Lift, Draw Bar Control, 8N

Just in case anyone wanted to know.
