Dewalt 60v chainsaw

I am thinking about buying a Dewalt 60v chainsaw and would like any feedback from people that have them. I know that they are not a gas powered saw but I don't need anything to cut a lot of wood just every once in a while. Thanks for any and all input .

I have a Makita 36v with a 16 inch bar. I like it just fine. I would suggest you lift it and move around with the batteries in it before you buy. Its a lot heavier with the batteries, and I am guessing that one will have three in it.

I bought the 20v to use for light pruning that's too big for lopping shears but don't warrant a gas saw. You won't clear the land with it but then again, you won't plant potatoes with a tea spoon.
I am very, very happy with mine.

I just bought a 40V from Amazon. It's not a Dewalt, but then my chainsaw only cost $140 with saw, 2 batteries and charger. Unfortunately, it now says currently unavailable and do not know if it will come back into stock.

We had a couple trees go down in a recent storm. I used the new saw on one of the trees. Very good balance, and the battery was still showing it had 3/4 charge when I was done. I can see getting a lot of use out of this saw. I like it better than the Oregon cordless I used to have. MUCH better!!

As I said, it's currently unavailable, but this is the saw:

Just found out that Lowes.com sells them. Same price, but apparently only one battery:

I bought an 80 volt kobalt. I have used it to cut some 6 in water oaks and some small pine tree, and some 10 inch light poles for fence post. I have been impressed.

I have an 80 volt from Menard's. When I got it you couldn't keep the chain on it. I took it to our local saw shop. Man took 1 look at it and said your chains bent. We put a new Origin chain on it and it has been a beast every since. If needed, I would not hesitate to buy another

504,

A 36 volts battery pack has 10 cells in it, in series. They are rated @ 3.6 volts.

Guido.

We have a 20 volt DeWalt chainsaw, pole saw, hedge trimmer, weed eater, blower and more than a dozen different construction tools. Highly recommend them. The saws are perfect for light work. Still have the big gas saw for firewood, but for stuff around the yard a battery saw is awesome.

I have been watching electric machines for sale for heavy duty jobs such as you mention. Just wondering if the weight is significantly different and becomes bothersome over time. My 18V Li-Ion Ryobi batteries in my drills and similar sized impact tools last forever. Wonder how the larger batteries fare.......I assume similarly assuming the same battery technology.

504,

there are many configurations, every manufacturer has its own,

Guido.
