Differences between 350B and 350C JD dozer

Anybody know of the differences (other than age) between a John Deere 350B and a 350C? Trying to justify paying an extra $4000 for the C model.

The 350&350B use dry clutches and brakes to drive and steer,subject to rust and corrosion if the housings leak or sweat. MUST be used regularly to keep things working.
The 350C uses wet clutches and brakes to drive and steer. That is everything operates in an oil bath. It can set unused without the older problems. Much less maintenance, In my opinion.

The C has wet brakes and I think it was mentioned on here a better coupling for the reverser or something. There are a couple people on here that will know all the pros and cons of both machines. Dave

Depends on what kind of 350B and what kind of 350C. There are some variations. A 350B can have a 152 or a 164 engine. A 350C came standard with the 164 - but some got repowered with 179s.
Deere bought back many 350Cs and ran them through the "Certified Relife" program. Those got many new updgrades along with new serial numbers.
In regard to the reverser drive on the engine flywheel - they were the same for the Bs and the Cs - but got totally updated with the 350Ds.
In regard to B and older dry clutches - as compared to the C and newer wet clutches - we had just as much trouble with the new wet clutches as the old dry ones - just different problems. The Cs did not hold up any better and - if anything - were more expensive to fix.
The Cs had slightly upgraded fasteners where the track-frames bolt on - but not by much.
The C also came through with gear-reverse eliminated from the transmission since - with the C - the hydraulic reverser was now standard equipment and not optional - since it was needed to power the wet steering clutches.
So, I see it as kind of a crap shoot. It depends on condition. A 350B can be just as good a machine as a 350C. Personally, I prefer the dry clutches - and if you maintain and store properly - they work just fine and do not get stuck.
