Dirty gas tank

I have Case 1946 d....according to you fellows. The gas line at the tank outlet gets stopped up. I remove the line and blow it back into the tank. I've drained the tank. But when I drive around ,it stirs up and clogs again. What's the trick to cleaning the tank?

The works toilet bowl cleaner works good. take off tank and shake it around some. leave it in the tank about 20 min then drain and flush with hot water.

You Could put a 1 inch riser stem on the sediment bulb, that way you will always have a little gas in there with the trash in the bottom , or ,,, stop kidding yourself and fix it , take the tank off and blow it out ,, , mite be a fine time to red-kote it ,, i rubber strap the tank to the 38 wheel and gofeed the cows i n low gear sloshing all the crap out of the tank

When you have the tank off and empty, make sure there is no rust in the tank before you put it back on. You may need to clean the tank out with muriatic acid and put a tank liner in it.

My DC sat for years gas tank full of rust took sidment bowl off used garden hose to flush out all rust then air gun to dry water. never had a nother problem.
Never took tank off

I bought a dc that had sat along time. Took tank off and cleaned the best I could put back on and still had trouble with gunk in tank bought a bottle of seafoam from farm and fleet this cleaned it right up had to clean sediment bowl a few times but it cleaned it right up hope this helps.
