disk blade sharpening

we are wanting to sharpen the blades

The traveling disk sharpeners roll them, so you don't loose disk diameter from grinding.

The Amy disc roller was in Utica, KS early on in the 1950s but moved to Dighton, KS later. I don't know when the Mitten family sold out but it seems the Amy roller is now by Lewis Machine & MFG.

it makes them more prone to rock chips as rolling them makes them thinner at the edge, I have friends that swear by it, personally I think it is no substitution for a heavier disk.

around here $2.50/per blade plus mileage.

Don't understand the 'sharpening'; if it won't cut, I'd suggest that the blades are worn out, the disk is ill-designed, you're trying to do something the disk wasn't designed to do, it's not adjusted right, etc.

it's hard to see but the blades get mushroomed at the tip on the blade from use , rolling makes this thinner and in effect sharper

run um in river sand, they will be sharp and thin before you know it
