I"ve got my front mount distributor out and Ive noticed if you push up on it from the tang end it will bind when rotating the shaft. If you push down on the shaft from the opposite end of the tang it rotates ok. Is that the way it"s supposed to work?

Probably have a wolled out bushing. I would recommend replace the bushing and ream to proper shaft size.

I put a new bushing in the top when I put in the new plate. Guess I 'll have to change out the larger bushing too.

o you have the spacer (washer) below retainer ring & on top of point cam? Do you have too long screws holding points in place? You need to find the point that is binding it. Look for advance mechanism dragging stationary parts.
