does a 260 loader fit a 4010?

If it has the row crop tractor mounts it will bolt right on. If it has the utility mounting bracket for a 2840-2955 you can use it too. You just have to make a spacer and use longer bolts in the rear axle support.

The frame rails on JD row crop tractors under 150 HP stayed the same width from the JD 3010-4010 clear to the JD 55 series tractors. When the 7000 series came out then the loader brackets are completely different.

IF you are going with a joystick valve email me your phone number. I can tell you how to hook in the system so it works correctly. Truthfully I would recommend doing it this way too. We can talk the reason over on the phone easier than I can type it all out.

Let's try this again!!! If the tractor the JD 260 came off of is a JD row crop tractor under 150 hp then it will bolt right on. They all have 19 1/2 inch wide frame rails. I am not going to list the 30-40 models that would work. Example: JD 4440, bolt right on. JD 4640 would not work, the frame rails are wider on the 4640. Note the JD 4640 is over 150 HP.

Also the larger utility tractors ( JD 2840,JD 2940, JD 2959,JD 2955, JD 3055, JD 3155, etc) had side frames and the same width frame as the row crop tractor. The utility tractor just needed an axle support that went under the back axle. That support will work on the JD 4010 but it will be about 1 inch too low back at the axle. All you need is a piece of flat stock an inch thick with two holes drilled in it. Then just use longer axle clamp bolts.

So We really need to know WHAT THE LOADER IS ON NOW!!! John Deere made brackets to put a JD 260 loader on more then 50-60 models of tractors. Some will work and some will not.

I am not trying to be a smart butt here but I can tell you in under a minute talking if the loader will work. Posting I am guessing what the HECK the loader is on now. So I have ZERO IDEA if it will fit. NOT ENOUGH information. So post what the loader is currently on or what it came off of. Even better email me. I will send you my phone number. We can talk it out in just seconds on the phone. I am already tired of typing about it.

Those LOOK like row crop brackets. They could be off an wide frame tractor( JD 4630,JD 4640, JD 4840, JD 4650, JD 4850, etc.) and then they would be too narrow for your tractor. If they are from a narrow frame row crop tractor( JD 4430,JD 4040, etc.) they would bolt right on. You would need the two side mounts, the front plate that bolts in the weight bracket holes, then there is a short cross member that bolts between the two side frames after you have them on the tractor.

You gave us a little more info but to be 100% sure then we need just a little more. IF they do not know what it came off of then have them measure how wide the brackets are from the frame out to the mounting pin. I can figure out if they are narrow frame from that dimension.

I owned a loader like that at one time. It will not roll back an extremely heavy load in any position. The model 265 will.]
I do have brackets for sale if you need some to mount a bale stabber or a small square bale fork.

The male coupler tips on the hoses won't fit your 4010 unless the breakaways have been changed to ISO.

By the way the narrow frame mounts are the most common ones. I just do not want you to get a loader than find out the mount is wrong. The correct mount would be hard to find now.

TxJim the hoses have been used with a mid mount joystick valve. They are not long enough to reach the rear SCVs.

He needs to have a joystick valve and return it to the filter cup on this JD 4010 or he will not have a very fast loader. HE will get a lot of chatter.

The original front axle on a 4010 is a little light for loader work. If you keep the load down you will be fine. If not, look for a 4430 front axle.

The hoses look longer than required to go to joystick valve to me but my eyesight isn't the best. Rather than mess with a ported filter cover I'd attach the hyd valve to tractor like this 1st photo for return from valve & 2nd photo for pressure for valve.
