Does a powerblock have petcocks?

I thought all old powerblocks had petcocks. Someone told me that since my block had petcocks, it wasn't a powerblock. Is that true? Thanks.

Never seen a powerblock with petcocks unless someone added them.

Unless someone grinds the words off the top of it, it will also say "Power Block" across the top.

I have a 6-2 powerblock in a 49 A. No petcocks

To the best of my knowledge, none of the TSC powerblocks had petcocks or provisions for them from the factory. I have put them on several, but you have to drill and tap the block to install them. A TSC powerblock will have raised letters on the top behind the upper water manifold saying "POWER BLOCK" and the series (6-1 for example). John Deere blocks will have a casting number in raised letters on the bottom. Mike

As you have learned, they don't have petcocks - that is one reason they weren't available for the unstyled series of tractors - too much compression to turn over by hand, according to an engineer I spoke with who worked on the PBs. Being a sleeved block also meant drilling thru both sleeve and block, which they apparently didn't want to do.

Thanks for all of the replys. The previous owner told me the late model "G" had a powerblock. I took his word. Tomorrow I'll have to check the block as has been suggested. How much horsepower should a late "G" have with a powerblock, flathead, big nut G carb, and a gas manifold if it is stock? Thanks.

Isn't exactly "stock" if its got a PB, flat head and gas manifold. LOL
If everything is in good shape, a G with that equipment could be 70+hp.
