Draining fluid from rear wheels???

Just wondering if any of you other fellows have drained your own rear wheels??? I picked up an old Allis and the guy said the rear wheels were filled. I would like to drain them. Can a person just pull the valve stem and let it drain?? Of couse there are probably EPA regulations a person might consider.. Thanks...

You can just remove the valves and get a lot of it out but not all. The tire guys use a pump to suck it out which collapses the tube and does a good job removing almost all of it. If it is calcium chloride solution it will kill grass for a few years if you drain it on the lawn. Other wise I don't think it is any more harmful than all the salt that get spread on roads here in the north east.

I did mine on the Cockshutt 35 fill it with air then remove the small cap with the valve in it, when you get down to the bottom take 1/4 in plastic tube add enough air to push the rest of the water out and insert tube in valve stem. make sure it is on the bottom.
You can also use a longer tube to put the water in a barrel if you don't want it on the ground.
the air pressure will be your pump.

Around here, I just call the local tire repair guy
and tell him he can have it if he will pump it out,
and he comes down as soon as he can and gets it to
sell to somebody else
