Greetings.I have a dresser td9h. Do i have to use Dresser fluids and oils or can I use generic such as NAPA?
Thank You Jerry

You can use other type oils just be sure they meet the spec's for your machine. I use motor oil in most of mine..30 wt or less in cold weather.

I've got Dresser equipment including a TD9-H. Just use what meets their specs. I use Tractor Fluid in the transmission and a hydraulic oil (#32 I believe) in the hydraulics. I always used 15W40 Shell in the engine with good luck. Lately I have used 5W40 synthetic because I've been using it in the cold weather. It works in the summer too.

Both post are right, use whatever suits the spec, but my question is where do you think you would get Dresser oil anyway.. ? Komatsu and Dresser parted ways and some overseas DRESTA now but haven,t seen any DRESSER oil have you..O jus my take on thing in my life I have owned well over 600 dozers. My personal dozer here on the farm now (retired) is a td9h dresser. Tried two high track d4s before I went back to the 6 way blade td9h Just perfect for general farm maintance...Good Luck Jerry

Thank you. I guess what I should be asking for are the Specs for the transmission and hydraulic fluid. I do not have the owners manual yet. In fact I would be interested in where to get one. or I would apreciate the specs and capacity information.I don't want to go under it with a 5 gallon drain tub and see 6-7 gallons of fluid coming down.I agree with your assesment. It is a real handy machine. IT IS A 94 with 6000 hours, new sprocets, rollers ,chain and pads. Any major problems awaiting me?
Jerry
