Just put a drive thru in my apartment. Pulling in got to coughing so hard foot slipped off of the clutch. Stopped the truck just behind my rocker.Didn't hurt the frame of the apartment. Mostly just took out sheet wrock and plywood. Feel like an idiot.

I am laughing now to keep from crying. Food poisoning last weekend now this. Hate to see what next week will bring.

I read wife your problem. She said "Well, he could've driven it through the bathroom and made it a car wash"

Wow, well at least you're ok, drywall not so good, truck hopefully some minor scratches. Years ago, my mother did the same darned thing in reverse, did a burn out in the garage after slipping a foot off the pedal, I had some things stored there, directly in her path, wiped out a brand new rigid 14" chop saw, cracked the hood on my old lawn tractor, tweaked a new table, left a patch of rubber, wrecked some other stuff, lucky she did not wipe out a lolly column or 2 !! Still need to replace that darned chop saw LOL. But like I always say whaddaya gonna do, I shoulda found a better home for that stuff sooner LOL !!

Thats ok, good friend, this week, working side jobs O.T. after the day job, tired out, tossed in a load of laundry, and washed his smart phone, lucky for the insurance though !

The grandson had a couple of close calls at intersections because he missed the brake pedal with his foot. He installed a clamp on pedel that basicly made the brake pedal much wider. After he finished installing it and went to move his truck, the harder he stood on the new pedal, the higher the engine reved. Took out the garage door and washer/dryer. Oversized brake pedal overhung eccelator.

1967 My uncle stuffed a 289 Cobra motor into a 1958 MGA. Throttle stuck in the garage one day. Ended up in the kitchen by the stove. My Aunt sold the car the next week.

In my small town. This will be front page news next week. Can't wait to hear what the locals have to say.

Had to be a problem with the brakes to allow the pedal to go low enough to contact the throttle pedal.

Billy,

On the subject of feeling like an idiot, one morning this week I went out to get the paper and noticed that the garage door was standing open. That meant it had been open all night, and anybody passing by could have helped themselves to anything in the garage, or come into the house. Not a good thing.

I finally figured out that when I had taken the dogs out about midnight, I used the keypad remote to open the garage door to turn on the driveway light. Then, I didn't want to lower the door with them running around because it wouldn't do either of them any good to have the door come down on them (one is crippled and one is small). My plan was to go back in the front door and then close the garage door from inside. But, apparently, that plan was too complicated, and I was only able to complete part of it.

Luckily, there was a rainstorm that night which probably reduced foot traffic through the neighborhood between midnight and 7 a.m., so no harm came of it. I'm still shaken, though. What I can't figure out is how I'm going to protect myself from myself.

Stan

Thank you. I've had so much bad luck lately I just can't understand why me sometimes. I can't rightly explain why your misfortune helps except perhaps to say misery loves company but it does help as I begin to deal with another misfortune that happened to me today. Sorry but until it's all over I don't want to go into more detail on my latest. I hope your truck wasn't damaged too bad and you have insurance.

Thanks Chris I know what you mean. Glad to have you for company. Seems like I get one step ahead and get knocked two steps back.

About my luck with cars. I can sit in my truck and no cars or trucks come down the street. Put my truck into reverse and the street turns into a major highway.

Yes, protect yourself from yourself, I find that age seems to bring more of that, why is it that I can remember things from early childhood, but if I put my shoes on the section of fin tube radiator hanging above the wood stove,( I think they put a few in the basement for heat ) 2 hours later when I take my boots off, I can't find my shoes ?

Stan, I guess it depends on your situation. We never close our garage door, except during cold snaps so the washer doesn't freeze, and during the workday so the little dog doesn't leave the premises. Wife forgot to close it during our recent one, so cracked the $70 inlet valve on washer. In my zeal to get the inside hose disconnected, managed to break another plastic part, this one $100. Got the new inlet valve, decided to try JB Weld on the more expensive part. Worked like a charm.

Our garage is a vast wasteland anyhow, nothing worth anything in it.
