Driving shed moving

I have a 32x72drivein shed with 11ft sidewalls. Would like to move it back 25ft and raise it up onto 2ft concrete walls to give it 13ft sidewalls. It is a pole building , with 6x6 posts on 8ft centres , and a truss roof . Steel sidewalls. Has anyone done this ? Is it practical? Any ideas or opinions are appreciated. Thanks hem.

Back in "98 I had a 40x75 pole building moved from the other farm to here. One mile. Cost %4500. They had hyd system to raise entire bldg, cut off no poles. Dug holes on new site, pulled bldg over it and lowered it. Took a day to ready and raise, a day to move and install.

Remember that pole structures develop wind resistance by bending moments in the poles. This is obtained by burial depth related to the soil strength.

So if you are going to cut off the poles and anchor them onto a conventional foundation the contractor will need to design a moment connection for each post in the new foundation. Can be done but there are are design considerations to be met.

Suggest you do not cut the poles, block out the post locations in the new foundation, lower structure in place and then grout the poles into the new foundation with non shrink construction grout.

Can be done, cheaper than building new.

As the other fella says, there is a difference between a pole building and a stick wall on a foundation, so you need to anchor those poles to the 2 foot wall in a good way, or the wind will blow it in.
