put new pads on and went to put drums back on found out that they wont go over new brakes. the adjuster is all the way in stoe says i have right pads for 98 f150 with v6 2 wheel drive . any help?

I take it this is on the rear.

Is your parking brake released all the way? I had the same problem on a Pontiac mini van once and found that in the process of installing the shoes, the parking brake had somehow became partially applied.

Or if the parking brake is still adjusted for the worn shoes,it needs to be loosened to allow for the thick new linings.

Now you see why its better to take brakes jobs to the experts they have the equipment to turn your drums and Arc your shoes to fit. After you get it all together you will most likely have only a small part of the shoe hitting the drum and wonder why your brakes don't work. Sometime its cost more to do a job yourself.
