Dry battery

First I've heard of this type of battery in a 8N.

Is anyone here using a dry cell battery, and is it worth the premium price?

My equipment is at least 25 yrs. vintage.

If I operated a modern equipment with all of the sensors and computer stuff....I would invest in a dry cell battery.

If a piece of machinery sits around (4-5 months) vapor from lead acid batteries can cause pre-mature failure of electronic connections and electronic computerized equipment.

Most equipment designed for handicaped person will contain dry cell batteries. Motorized scooters, wheelchairs, etc.

Gel Batteries are good too.

Gell cells are dry cells and I from what I've read, AGM, Absorbing Glass Material battery is a dry cell too. However, the OEM battery in my GMC was a Delco AGM. It was about 5 years old and failed the load test. The dealer wanted $165 for a new AGM Delco and Rural King wanted $45 for a Excide lead acid battery. I went with Excide. An AGM battery is a sealed battery. I Decided to remove the top from my old AGM Delco with a sharp chissel to see what was inside. It looked just like a wet cell. So go figure, is an AGM battery really a dry cell? Or does it become a wet cell when it goes bad? Inquiring minds would like to know the real answer

ipped top off Optima battery, turned it upside down, nothing ran out, looked just like this picture.
