where is a good and cheap place to find a rebuild kit....I was told they were around $600 bucks but everything that i am finding is around $1000. Thanks

"Good and cheap" are a little contradictory. I've never seen a quality complete overhaul kit for a 6 cyliner for $600. You get what you pay for, especially engine parts. If its cheap its made in China and tolerances are sh**. Spend some money and get a quality name brand kit that will last you a long time. Is this a stock overhaul? Farm use? Strictly pulling? Are you looking for on out-of-frame complete overhaul kit? What you plan to do with it will help determine where to go for engine parts.

It is going to be for a puller only the engine is already out of truck so it will be an out of frame installation.

Well it all depends on what your plans are with the engine, are you setting it up for a 466 class or do you have a biger cube limit. If you have a biger limit i would do a 540 kit or somthing. I am somewhat experenced in the 466 world and pulling. you can find a complete good engine for around $1500 what is exactly wrong with the engine you have? how many miles?

Have you ever put a naturally aspirated 466 on a dyno through the PTO ? (one that was retrofitted to a 560 or something similar)
