Dual loader question and pics

There's a loader been sitting in a nearby farm field for years that I took a look at. The owner says I can have it for about 100 bucks. It's a DUAL loader (made in S. Dakota), not sure of the model number. Does anyone use one of these? It's different from other loaders I know of (Wagner, Dearborn) that have a front mounting bracket. I can't figure how it connects to the front of the tractor....maybe it doesn't, or something's missing that I'll have to fabricate. I'll probably need to have rear brackets made, but shouldn't be too costly. The dimensions are about right.
The frame seems in good shape, but the larger hyd cylinders will need to be replaced (rods all rusted) as well as new hoses.
Interested in opinions whether this junk or worth fixing up for my 861 or 841! (the wife already expressed her opinion...it's junk).

Thanks

Could that be a Woods Du al front end loader? Couldn't find any info on "Dual". Here's a link to Woods. They've been in business since 1946.

Rods rusted???????? I can see the out side of the cylinders are but in the picture the rods are in side and probably in good shape. JUNK heck no because for that price its worth that as scrap iron. It does look like it is missing the valve body and maybe a few other things but sure would make a good project

Hi Old,
You are right it is missing valves. Here is another pic of one of the cylinders. Some of the rod is rusted, but don't know about the rest of it. Looked like the the cap nut came off the end of this one.

Hi Glen,

Yes, as far as I could find out, Woods had bought Dual or Du-all years ago.
I just found some pics of Dual loaders on this site by searching "dual loader" in the tractor photo gallery. It looks like those two inner narrow vertical bars (best seen in my third pic) might either bolt to the tractor or, another support frame that is maybe buried in the soil. I'll have to call the owner and get more info.
Thanks!

It MAY be a model 325.

The cylinder rods on those older Du-als were never chromed. Simply polish them up and you are "good to go". They have TOUGH packing which can be replaced as needed.

The loader's rear mounts extend back to the tractor's rear axle, and a pipe brace on each side extends forward and attaches to the tractors frame, probably just behind the front axle.

Here's a photo of a SIMILAR loader, and you can see how the braces extend forward and mount to the tractor frame.

Bob,

Thank you for the info and the photo. From that design, looks like there would be a LOT of leverage against those pipe braces. Because of that, I wonder if it would be less sturdy for lifting than say a Wagner loader which has a vertical bracket that bolts directly to the front axle support. On the plus side, maybe the DUAL design is easier on the front axle since it's not mounted right in front of the front axle pin.

I have the same loader on a 4010 I gave 400 at a action it is a good loader it looks like its missing part of the mounting bracket mine has a brackets that runs down the compleat side of the fram of the tractor it also has a cross member that runs under the tractor in frount of the oil pan in the frount of the tractor it mounts to were the weight bracket would mount

Thanks for the post JCMINI. I've noticed from some other pics that I could find (on this site) that these Dual loaders can mount with or without that frame and cross-member you mention (like in Bob's photo). I'll have to check...maybe the owner will be forth-coming on any missing parts.
