there is a Duetz 100-06 with leon frontend loader coming to a consignment auction sale May 31/08, i know very little about these tractors, will they start in 20 below weather conditions, what would they have to plug them , to keep engine warm when starting, or is there some kind of preheater on them, need feed back on this, Thanks.

Mine has difficulty starting when it gets near freezing. They have a preheater in the air intake which is why you don't want to use ether on them. Using some type of pan heater is the only way that I know of to heat the block. I really like mine and it is very efficient.

Some of these tractors were not good starters in cold weather, but if the engine has had the heads off and properly reshimmed after rebuild then they can start in VERY cold weater. Our 6807 would start with the glow plug down to about -18F. Up here most people put in the shroud heater. This is and electric element that bolts inside the air shroud and heats the top end of the engine. They worked quite well.
