Dynamic welder

Well I have acquired two more welders. Has anyone ever heard of a "Dynamic" brand welder? I got a small one in nice nice shape. it is 110v and says it will go to 70 amps. It works good, using small rod. I also got a nice little Westinghouse AC cracker box. It welds really nice. I have way too many welders now but when you are at a sale and they bring 20, 10, 5, even 1 dollar, ....what do you do? You cannot even buy a stinger or ground clamp for that. I guess I will just keep going till I run out of room to keep them.

Its called an obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Don't get started. A neighbor has several buildings and barns full of stuff, filled up his big wrap around porch and then it flows out into the yard. I've had code enforcement out several times, each time he moves the visible stuff to a rented barn and then starts anew. Code enforcement are supposed to be back any day now. This is in a fairly high priced subdivision (fly-in community) and he is a retired airline captain. Horrible situation. As I said, don't get started.

I agree with you but the cats are already out of the barn.

Noone heard of Dynamic brand? Are there any antique welder websites or clubs anyone knows of?....maybe I should start one....

I have one of these little welders under my work bench. They were ads in pop mech pop, science mags in the 50s.They sold for around 40.00.Many companies sold small welders by mail order.I have a suitcase welder that I use for small jobs.I have one of the 110 welders that used large wirewound resistors to reduce the line voltage.Never used it.These welder were recalled years ago. They had full line voltage on the electrodes and must have been real shockers out side on a damp day.I still use an old Weldmaster 150 amp welder my dad bought for 10.00 at a junk yard.I have a Lincoln 225 I bought in 1963 for 93.00 when I started welding on jobs that needed more current. My Dynamic welder looks like it has gotten pretty hot over the years so I rarely use it.The were many build it your self articles in the magazines in the 40s 50s and 60s.Always wanted to build a portable welder with a war surplus aircraft generator.

Leave your neighbor alone. Its his business, not yours.Buy his place if you want to control it.Some people collect old radios, cars, tractors, salt & pepper shakers etc. I would not take a house in a sub division as a gift.No place to keep my cows and farm tools. My sawmill would drive you nuts. Each man hears a different drummer.I have 2 roosters that crow at 4.30 am.

Back in 1950-'51 my dad built a garden tractor from model A Ford parts and pipe using a Dynamic Arc Welder. It was nothing more than a coil of iron wire to make a resistor in series with the 120 volt line. It worked best with a penny behind the fuse. But it didn't penetrate well and I broke many of his welds as he did using the garden tractor. I still have the tractor, and as I recall the welder was borrowed. He also welded drive and axle housings and shafts with many layers of weld and they haven't yet broken. I held parts or turned shafts as he welded, I was 8 or 9 years old.
