85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Been a lot of controversy over it. For automotive use you need to have a flex fuel vehicle. Some people have used it in old gas burnin tractors with a jet replacement or adjustment.

I run it in my 40 A, also i have been running it in my 2001 ford windstar. The milage went from 19 on gas to 18 on e85. I cant tell a diffrence when im driving it. As far as im concerned alcohol is one of the ways we can ween our selves off of forigen oil. I would rather give a farmer 20.00 dollar corn then pay Any money to a forigen country. what all of you guys that are against it need to relize is, that they can get aloohol out of just about any biomass. I say lets use the one crop that produces the most gallons per acher and start selling it way way below what gasoline is today. I belive that e85 should be on its own price scale and not just so much off a regular gallon of gas. if a farmer can get 100 bushels of corn per acher that means he could have that corn turned into 280 gallons of alcohol. Plus after there done with the 'mash' they can sell it as a high quality food for anmials. we also should learn a lesson from brazil.... they cleaned up there air by making alcohol 3 dollars a gallon cheeper than gas. over there alcohol is about .80 cents a litre. gasoline is around 1.66 a litre
I know until they offer some other form of alcohol other then corn, i guess corn will have to do. I just feel bad for the farmer that has to feed 7 dollar corn to there cows. but if you are raising your own then you only pay for the increased input cost, which is alot I know. I might just start filling up my barrel up with the e85. if you knock off the minnesota state tax which is around .25 cents a gallon then 85 is almost a full dollar cheeper then gas. We need to reduce our oil comsumption as to where we can get all we need from cananda and the usa. Then i would like to see them other countries EAT their oil. see how much they profit off that!

I wasent refering to you pete or anyone in particular. Just try it and see what happens. Blend it. just use less oil period. I know people who have been running 50/50 blend of it in non flex fuel cars and they have had no fuel related problumes. Only thing i can tell in my farmall is that it runs a little rough till it warms up for a few mins.
