ealry B vs late B info

any info on a early B with hand brakes vs the later style with foot brakes
I may pruchase a 39B soon atleast working on a deal anyway jsut like to know parts easly to find or interchange with late models anything specific to look for or points of anything unique
I have been doing some research since im new to allis tractors jsut wanted to ask here befor a deal is finaly made
I had fordson john deere and moline but i have always liked the aliis B and now have a chance to aquire one to play with

My family has 4 or 5 different Allis Bs. My dad has the earliest, 1938. I have the latest, 1951. As far as I know the only real difference being, early Bs had the Be engine. Later ones had the Ce engine. Most of the parts are interchangeable. My B has an adjustable wide front. Approx. 10% of production had the adj. front axle. It is a great little tractor. It's the 1st one my wife and I restored together. She put enough time in it, to lay claim to it. They are simple to work on and parts are available for them.

The foot brakes take a different fender iron. It has larger cut outs and a notch, plus the pivot shaft loop on the bottom. Also the brake covers are different. Biggest difference is electric start versus not - black has generator mount, torque tube has starter hole, and flywheel has ring gear.

I aquired my great uncles 1939 Allis B in August '07.It was my winter project and I found everything I needed to restore it.The most helpful resource is this forum and the "tractor"forum.You couldn't dream up a question that these guys couldn't figure out.They are going to be more help than your manual.Good luck if you get it.When I got mine It was stuck,no seat at all,No radiator etc..with the help from here I got it to run,then I decided to restore it and rebuild it.Hopfuly today it will start.Troy in Wa.
