Early International Swather

So I went to this sale yesterday and found this International Swather well I think it is its so old that it has a 6 volt battery (new to boot) and a new rebuilt generator. The engine runs great sounds great doesn't smoke even a little bit. Everything on it works so far so I'm guessing the $400 we paid for it is not a bad price. It will need tires the fronts are worn but good the little rear tire is shot will have to replace that right away.
Now where does one find a manual for one of these antiques.
Will get model and pics tomorrow when we bring it home.

Hi walt
How ya doin?
My pa bought an old 161 McCORMICK from a neighbor back in the early 60s with a 4 cylinder wisconsin and i just went out to the old shop and found the owners manual for it and i see it must of come out with a in line 4 cylinder also.
I can remember riding a lot of hours on it but was to young to drive it as i remember it was a challenge to drive.
Now if what i was told was right it was the first IH self propelled swather built

Hi
This one has a rather large v belt that runs a gear box of sorts and what i would call large spools with bands on it.
If it is a 161 and if it is the first of its kind,,,And i believe 161 is i would think you have found a real keep sake there.
I still have ours but it has ben sitting down in the fence row for so long and covered with old posts and what ever else for so long that it is in very bad shape.
