electric fencer

I have A20M zareba electric fencer. The flashing light shows that the fence is ok. The problem is I have no power coming out of fencer. Is this a common problem on these fencers it is about two yrs old. I removed the back of fencer but did not see anything like broken wire or such. Is there some tests with voltage meter I can do? I purchased a new fencer but would like to repair this one for backup. Thanks for any help

two ways in general a electric fence wont work, one is to lose the positive, the other is to lose the ground.I am not familiar with that brand but on the ones ive used the flashing light indicates that charger only is working ,not the fence itself.shut it off and make sure you have a good connection on your groundrod and at the charger connections on front of unit.if you have a bad connection there ,on the positive side for instance, charger doesnt know the difference,it can check for a grounded positive ,but to check for a open ,or bad connection, fence would have to loop back to charger and it would have to sense the pulse return so to speak.sounds to me as if you have a bad connection somewhere.and yes there are fence testers available.the meter type ones work better than the flashing light ones in my opinion.Any farm supply that sells chargers should have the testers available also.

The only fix for a Zareba fencer it to replace the whole works. The output transformers are wound with fine wire and fail often. They are glued to the circuit boards with epoxy. It takes special meter to read a 10000 volt pulse.

Zareba was very easy to deal with. I called last year on a 20m fencer about 3 mos. out of warranty. They sent the module with no questions asked. I was very pleased.
