i cant get my MH 50 to charge the batt. new gen. new regulator the electrcal diagram i got came from ferguson enthusiasts it was working when i took the batt. cable off but when i give it more rpms it dischages 30 - cant find ware im grounding out at or my electrical is wrong. does anyone no were i can find another wiring diagram?

According to Ferguson Enthusiasts diagram, MH50 is a Type A system.

To Polarize, with engine off and battery connected momentarily jumper from hot battery to generator armature. This is often done at BAT and GEN or ARM terminal on regulator.

To Test Charging system:

If you have a volt meter, check battery voltage with engine off and then running. Battery voltage should increase at least 10% with engine running. If not...

With engine running, ground the field terminal on generator. If charge increases there is a problem with regulator stage of voltage regulator or associated wiring.

If no increase in charge, leave field grounded and jumper from generator armature to BAT terminal on regulator. If charge increases there is a problem with cut-out side of regulator or associated wiring. If still no charge suspect generator/wiring/loose belt problem

I just went through this on my MF50 after changing the regulator. I ended up going to the local carquest store and buying a regulator made in the U.S.A And ask for for one built in the U.S.A because they sell both. After trying two that were made over seas. The first one did just what your's is doing and the second would charge 15 at idle and would discharge 15 at half throttle. The U.S.A. one is well worth the extra money.
