Emblem housing

I just bought an emblem, and housing for a Ford 600. It hasn't been installed yet because of painting. The wider part of the housing (that is the side next to the hood ) is about 1 1/2 inches wider than my old one. (that is top to bottem measurement) When I do install it I am wondering if the grill will fit. The grill at present is out being worked on. Is the 600,and 800 housing the same? If not maybe the wrong one was sent.

I would say that most likely your old one got squashed down some, necessitating replacement so the two side panels are bent down a little too.

They should be the same, when they did away with the "cone and medal" in the 60's the measurments stayed the same for a couple of years even though the look was different the measurments were the same one of these day I'll learn to take pictures so as to show

From the hood lid to the top of the emblem is approx 4 1/4 in From the bottom of the emblem to the grill is approx. 3 inches.Maybe this is what you are looking for?

When laying each huousing down on a table, emblem side down, with bolt holes matching the measurement top to bottem on the old is 7 3/8,the new one is 8 1/8,only about 3/4 of an inch.Different than I first stated,I think maybe showcrop might be right, the old one could have been mashed down some. Well,I will soon know, that is when I get my grill back from being repaired. Thank you Guy's
