engine block

In june I called about a engine block from a vender in green mag.he said he wants 400. for 620 block I said I will get back with you .yesterday .I called ask him if he still had it he said yes said what price did I tell you I said 400. and he said back in june he will bring to the show in my neighbor hood for 400 .now he says needs fuel money when he comeing this way any way 50.00this deel is getting fishy I dont know what to do if I trust him that the block is even good .?
