engine replacement 40 cockshutt

looked at 339hercules anyone know of better engine 4 a 40??

a g339 with the crossflow head is a very good engine.it will make enough power to compete with anything except the very big molines and case's.

A 262 or 301 gleaner does real good.

We have a guy in our area that pulls with a 40 that has the 262 Buda in it out of a combine. He can easily pull in 3rd gear on any track. That engine is rated at 72hp.

tell me more bout the pain have 262 gleaner n it now... just not enough but ths one wont pull n 3rd.. have choked it n 2nd at 5500 on some red dirt east tn tracks. have 18.4 super all tracks got 2 have more motor..
