Just curious,would an830 engine bolt into a 930 tranny,or the other way around? Not doing it the thought just went through my head.

Yes, and yes. I'm building one. May be awhile getting it finished but it will get done Good Lord willing. I plan on building a 1030 Case-o-matic someday too.

Hay Lamont;
Case should have offered COM in both the 930 and 1030. It really was a great setup, but misunderstood. It was adopted into industrial equipment with enthusiasm and became the standard of choice without the direct drive lockup. I guess farmers are stuborn, and we as Case dealers coulden't convince them that the COM tranny was just adjusting to the load rather than "slipping" Also if Case had better brakes, inching back to hook to an implement would have been smoother. My dad had two COM 830s, one of which I grew up running. I absolutely loved it in both plowing/rowcrop applications and in the hay field. It was the best planting tractor we ever had. We ran 6-row equipment on 36 inch rows. It had an M&W Turbo on it and cranked 108 HP. We didn't work it hard all the time, but it was there if we needed to occasionally, especially if we were breaking ground or chiselling deep. Wish I had it back.

had an 830 com that we put a 336 BDT engine on, worked really great till we smoked the com, it was turning 120 hp.

Just curious, what gave out in the COM. We also did the same conversion. Have tried not to dump all the power through the torque converter. Know that the lock up clutch will hold over 150 HP.
