Exhibit GP???

I posted a forum a couple days back about a GP I saw at an auction. Right now this forum is back to about page 3...look back to that for pictures I posted.

Trying to figure out the story on this GP. At first I thought it was GP crossover with the different parts on it...but according to books I have read, the crossovers did not start until a later serial number. Looked at the serial number again today, and there is an "A" stamped into the tag after the serial number. I know they made exhibit A&B model D's...could this be an exhibit A GP??

The A stamped after the number on the serial tag was a dealer modification after the tractor was owned. They added a crankcase breather and ran the tube up to the casting between the carb and air cleaner.

Aren't these parts with "CX" prefix instead of just a "C" prototype or experimental?

I do not know about the X in the casting number, but the parts look to be the same as either Part No. C1629R or C1703R on page 87 of the GP parts book.

What was the serial number? My friend also has a GP with an A stamped after the serial number. its a hulk so a lot of the little stuff is gone. Do you know what the tractor brought?
