I have a couple problems with this expo in Springfeild . Let it be clear here that i thought it was a great show with lots of great tractors. Here's the thing i don't think they provide enough outdoor activity's. After you have walked around and seen most of the tractors thats it. I could have stayed till two and fried like an egg watching a tractor pull with no shade in sight . Some grinding , sawing, more hit miss motors maybe just anything please. And Yes the 60 crawler drew a crowd we are proud of you Tim ! Saw you brought the gator out too.lol

there were more vendors than usual and many interesting tractors to look at, but the overall tractor count was down. the lawn and garden guys were there in full force with a great number of tractors. I went friday all day and the weather was perfect, but the crowd was sparce. I went to look at dubuque tractors and there were many nice ones to view. all in all it was an excellent show.

I agree, there's not enough activity to keep it interesting. I was there all three days and am going back today to retrieve Wesleys tractor. Antique tractor pulling is definately a participation sport, not a spectator sport. Some changes could be made to make it more enjoyable. Shorten the "Full Pull" to 150 feet. closer seating and better access to snacks and some shade to mention a few. The show at Plain City and Centerburg are much better I think.

It was hot at the show that"s for sure, my red neck got redder from the sun. There were a "lot" of nice tractors there, the 3020,console,gas powershift, standard, with HFWD was a very nice unit,it may have been the most valuable tractor there, the 8020/mounted plow was a nice one too.I was able to put my 60C on the dyno, it only turned 38 hp. I"m fairly sure there are more horses in there ,,, but couldn"t get them to come out. I didn"t have tools handy to change the timing or set the carb. I guess I spent more time on the the other end.. I found the 60 style remote coupler that I was looking for from Dave Cook (he had 3 of them on the wagon) he sold it to me for a very fair price. I am hoping to have the hydraulic valves on for the Plain city show. More activity is some thing that makes a show better, It"s fun to see these old Gals do some thing other than look pretty, that is one of the things that make the Rantual show one of the best. It was nice meeting a lot of the guys that post on here at the show.

Well, there were three things that caused me to make a long, 1200 mile round-trip, two-day sprint to that show: The model "H" being one of the features, Tim S' "60 crawler", and Brandon"s "DI".

Tim"s crawler was simply remarkable - very well designed and very well executed. And Brandon"s "DI" was quite impressive, to say the least.

I had hoped to see a few more "H"s". By my count, there were 31 units there and of those there was only one "HN" and one "HWH". By contrast, the New York State Expo in 2007 had over 100 "H"s" including a number of "HN"s", three "HWH"s", and one very rare "HNH".

But I certainly wasn"t disappointed with the show. It takes a tremendous amount of effort and time to organize and stage such a show even if it consists mainly of static displays - and with working exhibits such as plowing, threshing, baling, etc., the effort and time necessary to make it happen smoothly is much greater. So I"m glad and appreciative that organizations such as the Ohio Two-Cylinder Club are able to do what they can to sponsor such shows.

When are the shows at plain city and centerburg? Wanted to make it to the ohio two cylinder expo but didnt make it;Too much going on around here this weekend.
