Farm Power Welder

I just picked up a Farm Power Mfg DC arc welder at an auction and I need some information. It looks like the unit bolts on to a tractor frame rail and is powered by a pair of belts from the crank shaft. I tried searching the internet and this site, but found nothing. Has anyone heard of this welder? It would be nice to get a manual to get the current specs.

Sure it's not driven by a belt pulley like a threshing machine? Or by the PTO? See if there's a data plate with the RPM listed. Dave

does it look something like this.this is a haddican bros. uses a military surplus generator from a bomber type airplane.

A few companies made welders from surplus aircraft generators. They had to be driven at 3 to 4000 rpm to put out 200 amps.Lejay sold one driven by a 10 hp engine with a 10 inch 3 belt pulley. There is a photo of a welder on a Ford tractor driven by a belt pulley in Earm Arc Welding by Morford..This generator would have to be wound for low RPM.Air craft generators need a choke coil and a fan when used as welders.
