Farmall 450

My Farmall 450 leaks oil from a seal on the pto actuator shaft. I know that the book calls for Hy-tran oil and that is what I changed it to .I was just wandering because it seems to be a seperate
reservoir if it would hurt for now to put thicker oil in it. I would like to change the seal out .
It looks to be simple job, but where can I find the seal?

There are planitary gears and clutch/band systems (could be either I think) and they do not like Thick oil. Do not change it out. The new seal can be found at motion industries, or other bearing shop. Jim

just got that seal for my 340 straight from CIH dealer.

I got the seal for mine from the IH dealer. I don't remember what all was involved as it was a few years ago. I do remember it wasn't too bad to change.

I had to replace both the inner and outer seal as it has it's own oil and was leaking into the rear as well . is this the case with yours?
