Farmall 544 engine swap flywheel problems

I am swaping the gas engine in my farmall 544 for a d239 diesel engine. These tractors came with this engine and i didn"t think it would be a hard job. I have run into a problem finding a flywheel that will fit the farmall 544 with the diesel engine and the standard transmission. All the flywheels i find are for the diesel with the hydro. Does anybody know what other flywheels might work for this application or where i might be able to find one? The internationl part number for the flywheel i need is 3132157r11. Thanks

Just wanted to wish you luck with this project. I had been looking for a 544 diesel gear drive for about five years and thought about doing the same as you are. I finally found my 544 a few months ago but had to ship it from Arizona to Minnesota, was definetly worth it, should have it all fixed up by the end of the week. Check into a flywheel for a late 686 with the 310 German diesel. The part number is different. The clutch will be the same, and I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work. I have found that Bates Corp in Indiana is a great source for 544 parts. Keep us posted on how the project turns out.

I know it would be high, but have you tried CaseIH dealer. They should be available new.

I have tried probably 30 used tractor companies and have had no luck yet on a used flywheel. My local international dealer qouted me almost $1100 for a new one which i thought was a little steep. I was just hoping to find someone who had a used one or somebody willing to make a good deal on a new one.
