Found a 67, gas 656 Wf. Clutch , brakes, motor,TA,and sheet metal, are all good. Its going to need rear tires. I think the man will take $4000 for it.Is this a deal or not?

Yes it is,older iron has really jumped in value. That tractor on our lot would sell for 5500-9500 range. Price a new unit same H.P. range and prepare to be shocked, besides the 656 anyone can work on it.

I agree with JayIHMan: I bought my 656 (g) 3 years ago for 5700$. It had just had the engine replaced, new left front and both rear tires. Good tin, paint, torque, hydraulics, no leaks.

Now I look in the paper, and they seem to all be going for 6000$ plus, no matter what shape they're in. 4000$ is a great deal for one in the shape you describe. And you'll love it: handiest tractor I've every owned. It would take a lot for me to consider selling it.

Always hard to value a tractor without seeing it. But in the case of a 656, you can pretty much figure that any old run of the mill 656 that will move under it's own power will bring close to 3000. Sounds like this is a better tractor than that. Tires are going to make it right at a 5000.00 and a few incidentals will put you at 5500.00. Still a good price for a tractor that is liked by almost everyone.
