farmall A 3 BRUSH GENERATOR.

Well having trouble with my generator on my A tractor, i see itsa a 3 brush generator, i vave a few 2 brush generators from 50's autos, and vlotage regs too, wouls these be an acceptable replacement....or just upgrade to a 12 volt alternator..

You need to decide on changing to a different generator and regulator set up or converting to a 12 volt neg ground alternator. Asking that here is going to get you answers for both ways as being the best way. It is a personal choice as I see it. Either will work if done correctly.

What do you want to do?

You can search the web for generator wiring diagrams, or the wiring diagram for a later Farmall that used a two brush generator with regulator. You need to know if the generator is an A or B system to get the right drawing and the regulator needs to match, A or B.
