farmall A steering

i know this has been discussed here before but.on the A there is a lot of end play in the steering wheel shaft where the shaft comes out of steering box.how do you correct this problem?any and all ideas appreciated

Afternoon in sticks,
Remove the large castle nut and get some large shim washers that only contact the outside race of the large bearing on the end of the steering shaft. This will eliminate your axial play in the shaft.

End play can be fixed with a new bearing easy to replace.
